durante las ultimas semanas concretamos el esfuerzo que empezo en marzo 2010 para llevar algo de ayuda y esperanza a la gente afectada por el terremoto en Chile. Queriamos compartir la alegria y gratitud expresada por la gente que ayudo en distribuir la ayuda en Chile y tambien de la gente que la recibio. Las palabras palabras enviadas por Claudio C. Ramirez, la persona que se encargo de distribuir la ayuda, nos transmiten la experiencia en Chile:
"Since February 27, 2010 at 3:34 a.m, the life of many Chileans changed
dramatically. Some could not survive to tell. For those surviving, the
earthquake was not only an unforgettable experience of the weakness of our
lives but also a chance to become conscious about the somehow hidden weakness
of nowadays Chile's social structure. While the most vulnerable part was
vividly revealed, the safer part was astonished by its fortunate position. The
destruction was enough argument to wake up of the nightmare and do something
useful to either rebuild the minimum ceiling for the coming nights, or to just
give a hand to those much affected. For us, the help sent by Leipzig
Hilft/Ayuda Chile was a great opportunity for the later and help poor families
of the Maule region strongly affected by the earthquake. The focus on rural
schools, which were indeed not too damaged, was chosen as these places were in
most cases a remnant of the hope for a better future, especially for kids from
the surrounding affected families. At Las Lomas, La Astilla and Rincón de Los
Muñoces we could see more than 100 kids and a bunch of teachers enjoying the
feeling of being assisted for their weakened education. They also learn this
help come from far away, at the other side of the world, where people were
thinking about them. This is always good news for such isolated schools. Thanks
for the chance to help."
